WHAT IS ISLAM?

Islam is an Arabic word that means "peace" and "submission". It refers to the path of those who are obedient to Allah (God) and who seek to establish peace with Him and with all of His creation.
 
Islam is not a new religion. It is the same message of belief in one God and righteous living that was revealed to all prophets before Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all).  Muslims follow the Holy Qur’an, their sacred book, which they believe is the final and perfect revelation from God, preserving and completing the guidance given to all previous prophets. A Muslim is one who accepts this message and submits peacefully to the will of God.
